How Hyperlocal Dispatch Matching Works in Connect

What actually happens between posting a request and a partner arriving.

Connect's Instant Help dispatch is built to answer one question fast: who's the nearest, verified person who can actually do this job right now?

Requests go out in waves, not to everyone at once

When you post a request, Connect doesn't broadcast it to every partner in the city. It dispatches to the closest verified, available partners first — a first wave. If nobody accepts within the time window, the search radius widens automatically for a second wave, and again for a third if needed. This keeps response times fast for the common case (someone nearby is free) while still reaching further out for less common jobs.

First to accept, wins — no double-booking

The moment one partner accepts a request, it locks to them and every other partner who was notified is told immediately that the job is taken. This is handled as an atomic, race-safe operation, so two partners can't both accept the same job at the same time.

A code, not a button, marks the job done

Nothing is marked complete because a partner tapped a button. A 6-digit completion code is sent to the customer once the work is finished, and the customer reads that code out to the partner in person. Only then does the job close. This one step is what makes the whole system auditable — there's no way to mark a job "done" without the person who asked for it agreeing it actually is.

Billing is itemized, not folded together

The amount a customer pays and the fee a partner owes Connect are shown as separate lines — service cost, any approved extra work, and Connect's commission are never combined into one number. Partners see commission, its GST, a processing fee and that fee's own GST as four distinct, timestamped entries.
