Attendance is the single most-marked record in any school. Here's how Edu360 makes sure it's actually accurate.
Location-verified, not just self-reported
Before Edu360 accepts an attendance check-in, it checks the teacher's device location against the school's geofenced campus boundary. Outside that boundary, the check-in is rejected. It's a deliberate constraint: no extra steps for a teacher who's actually on campus, but no way to mark attendance from home either.
Why location, not biometrics
Some school ERPs verify attendance with a fingerprint or face-scan device at the gate. Edu360 deliberately uses location instead: it needs no extra hardware installed at each school, works the same way whether a teacher checks in at a classroom or a school gate, and avoids the privacy and maintenance overhead of biometric devices — while still making it impossible to mark attendance from off-campus.
How student attendance is marked
A teacher picks the class, section, date and session (schools can run more than one session a day, such as Morning and Evening). Everyone starts as present; the teacher marks who is absent, late, on half day or on leave, and saves. Parents of absent students are notified. Schools can restrict marking to a set time window and location, and attendance can't be marked for a future date.
Teacher and staff attendance
Teachers and staff check in and out from the mobile app inside the campus geofence, or mark work from home where the school allows it. A wrong record is fixed through a regularization request that an approver reviews, so corrections leave a trail. See teacher management software for the staff side.
Synced the moment it's marked
Once attendance is marked, it updates the admin dashboard and each parent's app immediately — not at the end of the day or week. A parent can check whether their child was marked present that morning, in real time.
Class-level and school-level views
Teachers mark attendance per class; admins see attendance percentage rolled up across the whole school on one dashboard, instead of collecting and re-typing numbers from individual class registers.
Where leave fits in
Attendance and leave are connected: an approved leave for a student shows up correctly in that day's attendance record instead of appearing as an unexplained absence. See how leave management works in Edu360 for the request-and-approval side of this.
Attendance is one module of a school ERP; it shares the same student and staff records as fees, exams and payroll.
