Choosing school management software is easy to get wrong. Here's what's actually worth checking before you commit.
1. Does it share one student record across modules?
Ask for a demo of a fee waiver or a transport change and watch how many screens it takes. If attendance, fees and transport don't reference the same underlying student record, you're buying separate apps with a shared login page, not a real ERP.
2. Is access actually role-based?
A Principal, a class teacher, a parent and a student should see different things by default — not the same dashboard with some buttons hidden. Multi-tenant, role-based access (the way Edu360 is built) is what keeps one school's data isolated from another's, and one user's data appropriate to their role.
3. Can you turn modules on and off?
Not every school needs hostel management on day one. Software priced and built around per-school modules means you're not paying for — or configuring — features you won't use yet.
4. Does attendance actually get verified, or just recorded?
There's a real difference between a register that can be marked from anywhere, and one that checks a teacher's location against campus boundaries before accepting a check-in. The second kind is what actually stops backdated or inaccurate records.
5. Is there a real mobile app, not just a mobile-friendly website?
Parents check things between other tasks, not at a desk. A native app with push notifications for fee due dates, attendance and messages gets used; a website parents have to remember to open usually doesn't.
These five checks are exactly how Edu360 is built — read what a school ERP actually is first if you want the fuller picture, or go straight to a demo of Edu360.
